Our College Freshman Skills Groups might be for you if you:
Are excited about starting college but can’t stop overthinking about grades, social life, and building your resume
Are a first gen student feeling lost without someone to show you the ropes
Want to get the most out of your college experience but don’t know where to start
Each week the group will cover a topic that we frequently hear college students stress about, including:
Week 1: Getting acquainted with your new school and on-campus resources
Week 2: Making friends and building a social support network
Week 3: Time management and study skills
Week 4: Handling roommate drama and other social conflicts
Week 5: Budgeting, finances, and working while taking classes
Week 6: Thinking ahead: how to secure references and letters of recommendation for grad school, internships, and more

Any students in their first year of college are welcome to participate. Transfer students who are starting their first year at a new school will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All participants must be physically located in the state of California at the time of each meeting, meaning students attending school out of state are unfortunately unable to participate.

Meetings will be held virtually via Google Meet once per week on Wednesdays from 12:00pm-1:15pm. Meeting dates include:

The fee for this group is $40/meeting, due at the time of each meeting. Members who have committed to participating in the group will be charged for each of the 6 dates, even if they choose not to attend all 6.
